Reflections and Advice:
1.) What do you think makes your school unique relative to other boarding schools?
Forman School is a unique school as it specializes in students that have some form of learning disability. With one on one classes and individual support students have the full support of the faculty and staff.
2.) What was the best thing that happened to you in boarding school?
I loved Forman as student. The friends I made have been with me since the day I left. We grew up together. At boarding school you a forced to deal with different personalities all day long. You quickly learn to be an advocate for yourself and sometimes others.
3.) What might you have done differently during your boarding school experience?
I would've taken my academics more seriously. I did what was needed to get by and that is one of my largest regrets in life.
4.) What did you like most about your school?
The people. The location. Feeling like I was not alone in my learning difference. Knowing that there are others who have the same issues.
5.) Do you have any final words of wisdom for visiting or incoming students to your school?
Take it all in. Understand that the school is there to better your education and you.
Academics:
1.) Describe the academics at your school - what did you like most about it?
Forman school academics are designed to help the students reach their full potential. I always hated science, when I was a freshman I refused to dissect a frog. Refused. Then my junior year I took Physics and I feel in love with science. My senior year I took Marine biology, Anatomy and The Rainforest Project.
Athletics:
1.) Describe the athletics at your school - what did you like most about it?
One of the best/worst things about Forman is that ALL students are required to participate in a after school sport or activity. While at Forman I was in plays, I played Tennis and basketball all 4 years.
Art, Music, and Theatre:
1.) Describe the arts program at your school - what did you like most about it?
While I was at Forman they offered Photography, theater, art and ceramics. I took photography and theater. I ended up going to Parsons School of Design and majored in Photography.

I did not really participate in any
Dorm Life:
1.) Describe the dorm life in your school - what did you like most about it?
The dorms at Forman are all unique and individual. Many of them are old homes. The dorm sizes range in size. I loved the uniqueness and individuality of the spaces.
Dining:
1.) Describe the dining arrangements at your school.
The dining hall offers many different options. The food service staff was friendly and helpful. The cafeteria is only open during the main meals. There is a snake bar that is open after school, in the evenings and weekends.
Social and Town Life:
1.) Describe the school's town and surrounding area.
The town of Litchfield is a beautiful Connecticut town located in the Northwest Hills of Connecticut. Litchfield is a small modest town. The next town over is Torrington. Torrington is where you can find the larger supermarkets, Target and Walmart.

Overall positive experience. Small classes of 5-15, Faculty that genuinely cared & provided specialized attention to students who were either slow learners or behind their grade level. They laid a foundation I draw. . .
