Reflections and Advice:
1.) What do you think makes your school unique relative to other boarding schools?
NMH allows students to dive into the community and passions. The college like scheduled of four classes allowed me to seamlessly transition into college academics. Also NMH has a four hour per week work program which allows students to give back to the school while learning life lessons. Every faculty that I came across really tried to make not just NMH better, but myself also. NMH allowed me to push my boundaries and sign up for unique clubs. The chess team and monopoly club really allowed me to meet new people. NMH is an inclusive school that opens up its arms to all.
2.) What was the best thing that happened to you in boarding school?
I have always hated public speaking. I would feel uncomfortable. NMH made me want to present an essay in front of the entire school demonstrating how much NMH has changed me for the better. NMH inspired me to become a more humble and sincere person.
3.) What might you have done differently during your boarding school experience?
I would suggest trying to meet kids outside of your normal groups. If you play a sport then join a club. If you play instruments or do art, try out a sport. Push your comfort zone.
4.) What did you like most about your school?
I really enjoyed the relationships that I developed with my class and teachers. Everyone had faith in me to succeed and that is what I did. NMH offers a unique set of faculty that really care about the students well being as well as their grades.
5.) Do you have any final words of wisdom for visiting or incoming students to your school?
I would say that Shea dorm is the BEST. Also, I would say to try the burrito bar because it is amazing. Lastly, I would suggest that students join the chess club because it teaches you not only how to play chess, but to play life.

The four block system allows students to get used to a college atmosphere. Every person I’ve talked to has said they they are more prepared from NMH than even some other prep schoolers because of this schedule. The 80 minute classes allow teachers to have more time for hands on activities to engage students in the material.
Athletics:
1.) Describe the athletics at your school - what did you like most about it?
The soccer team is a family. Everyone cares for one another and puts their body’s on the line. Every sport I saw had the same mentality and I could really feel how connected the players were each other and the coach. I joined the track team and was welcomed with open arms. I made new friends and people were genuinely excited to have me on the team. NMH makes every person feel included.
Art, Music, and Theatre:
1.) Describe the arts program at your school - what did you like most about it?
I did AP ceramics and trumpet. The arts building is brand new and the teachers really care about the students development.

The food is amazing. I have been to a lot of different prep schools for my siblings and the NMH food is by far the best. There is a salad bar and burrito bar along with home made desserts.

There is the opportunity for students to take a 10 minute bus to the local town of greenfield. It is up and coming and had many restaurants and stores to look around in. I loved getting pizza with my friends in town.
