Reflections and Advice:

1.) What do you think makes your school unique relative to other boarding schools?
The sizes of classes are quite small, which I think is unique because it allows for more concentrated lessons and more one one-on-one teaching. The smallest class I've been to only had three other students. I felt like the concentration level and the amount of information we could get through in that one class was incredible. It made my studies and my results better.
2.) What was the best thing that happened to you in boarding school?
The best thing was developing a love for horseback riding. I never had the chance to do that before I came to Knox. And everyone in Knox was the one who encouraged me and convinced me to try this sport. Which I now practice weekly even in collage. In terms of achievements and growth, I feel like its the way of learning. The time and space Knox was able to give me to develop my style of learning and my time management skills. These are skills I continue to use in collage.
3.) What might you have done differently during your boarding school experience?
I think being less shy and opening up to the teachers and peers sooner. They are all welcoming and understanding, and I wish I reached out as soon as I started school to build a stronger tie with all of them. But despite this, I was still able to develop friendships that I hope can last a lifetime.
4.) What did you like most about your school?
I just love the people there. I think thats what makes Knox so fun and memorable. Also all the opportunities Knox was able to give me, like taking on leadership roles in clubs or learning/liking a new sport.
5.) Do you have any final words of wisdom for visiting or incoming students to your school?
I definitely recommend going for a walk around the campus and just getting that fresh air and wilderness. Especially with a friend!!

Academics:

1.) Describe the academics at your school - what did you like most about it?
I like the concentrated learning we get from smaller classes. I enjoy the teachers too, I feel like they are all very qualified and good teachers who bring out your interest in the subject. The workload I would say is moderate to high, it does get quite intense with some AP lessons, but we do get time every day to focus on homework and get it finished before it needs to, and the support we got was incredible, so I felt safe even though I was under pressure.

Athletics:

1.) Describe the athletics at your school - what did you like most about it?
I liked the variety of sports we have in Knox, I particularly liked Equestrian and badminton. Our teams were quite competitive because we competed against other teams from other schools, and we had weekly training to ensure we were on top of our games.

Art, Music, and Theatre:

1.) Describe the arts program at your school - what did you like most about it?
The theatre program is great in Knox, I joined productions at the beginning of the year like Sound of Music. I liked the fact that it pushed my comfort zone and increased by confidence for later events. In Knox there acting and musical opportunities, also visual arts are highly supported by the school. We had a gallery which has students' artwork and it feels nice to see that your efforts in arts are valued by the

Extracurricular Opportunities:

1.) Describe the extracurriculars offered at your school - what did you like most about it?
Doing volunteers like beach side cleaning and helping in student council were enjoyble times. There are quite a lot of extracurricular and volunteer oppotunities around the community which Knox helps organize.

Dorm Life:

1.) Describe the dorm life in your school - what did you like most about it?
The dorm life was great, I like my dorm setup. It is shared with one other person in the room, I get enough space for myself and the bathroom is between two rooms. The dorms are a good size and very comfortable. There is a kitchen in the dorm, so sometimes I cook food later evening if I needed to. But there is hot meals three times a day and most of the time a snake after sports is enough. Before moving into the dorm I was able to fill out a form that helped me be allocated to roommates that have similar living habits and schedules as me, which helped us get along and feel comfortable with each other.

Dining:

1.) Describe the dining arrangements at your school.
I like the dining hall, it is set up where half of the school goes to the dining hall first, and the the other half goes later. So it is not very crowded and the seating is good so you can sit with friends and enjoy the meals together. You can sit wherever you want, the food quality and variety are all worth mentioning.

Social and Town Life:

1.) Describe the school's town and surrounding area.
The Long Beach Town Park and the beach is near Knox, when my parents pick me up for weekends we like to drive there and spend time there. I like that part. The school is surrounded by nature and a good distance from Stony Brook.
2.) Describe the social life at your school - what did you like most about it?
I like how close you get with some of your friends and teachers. The boarding school and the atmosphere really helps you facilitate a strong friendship. You share everything and you learn to live with people you are not familiar with at first. During meal times and evening, I get to spend time with my friends and engage in various activities with them. Making unforgettable memories.
