Reflections and Advice:

1.) What do you think makes your school unique relative to other boarding schools?
There are so many aspects of Merrick Prep School (MPS) that makes it unique, but if I was to mention two aspects, they will be the following: Aspect 1: Small class sizes By having small class sizes, students can get more 1 on 1 from teachers, feedback on their work, and attention. Aspect 2: Synchronous and in-person learning MPS offers both synchronous and in-person, this can help students who do not have their study pernits ready yet, this is especially true during the pandemic.
2.) What was the best thing that happened to you in boarding school?
The best thing that has happened to me at MPS is the network. Having friends from all over the globe from all different backgrounds is priceless, and I think that meeting these wonderful talented people is the best thing that has happened to me at this school.
3.) What might you have done differently during your boarding school experience?
After thinking about this, I think my best advice would be the following: This is a time passing from your lifetime, so give it all you got! Study hard, party hard, laugh loud and keep aiming high, enjoy every minute of your time, never store a thing!
4.) What did you like most about your school?
The thing I like the most about the school is the bonding. Here at MPS, we are more than a school, it is my second home.
5.) Do you have any final words of wisdom for visiting or incoming students to your school?
Always do list: - Snack (especially if it's cookies) - Watch movies in the common area in the basement - Hangout in the snack bar daily - Use the water dispenser in the dining hall to fill your bottle (it's so refreshing)

Academics:

1.) Describe the academics at your school - what did you like most about it?
What I liked the most about the academics at MPS is the class sizes. The class sizes here at MPS are small with an average of 10 students in a classroom, with that number, students can get more attention from the teachers, and it can also create more initiatives as there are fewer barriers to break for students.

Athletics:

1.) Describe the athletics at your school - what did you like most about it?
Athletics programs at my school: - Soccer - Hockey (ice hockey too) - Basketball - Tennis table (ping pong)

Art, Music, and Theatre:

1.) Describe the arts program at your school - what did you like most about it?
The school has a Drama department that has most of things you might need for any theatre/art activity. There is a piano in the dining hall. We did Music club this year and it was a lot of fun to play with all of the different instruments.

Extracurricular Opportunities:

1.) Describe the extracurriculars offered at your school - what did you like most about it?
One of the things I liked the most about this school is its extra-curricular and volunteer opportunities. All students participate in several activites such as on weekly basis. People and organizations around town offer students here at MPS volunteering opportuinities and we are known for helping the community around Merrickville.

Dorm Life:

1.) Describe the dorm life in your school - what did you like most about it?
What I like the most about the dorm life at MPS is the res life staff, they are more like friends and family than staff, they are a lot of fun and they support us when we need support. The rooms here are great! The desk, the washing room, the space, the bed, the closet, ...etc. Everything about the rooms here is great.

Dining:

1.) Describe the dining arrangements at your school.
What I like the most about the dining arrangements at MPS is that the kitchen staff is always lovely, and the food they make is from all around the world. Here at MPS, we celebrate diversity, and one of the ways to show that is food!

Social and Town Life:

1.) Describe the school's town and surrounding area.
I think MPS has a great location, it is located downtown Merrickville, it is a gorgeous small town. The school is close to the pharmacy, bank, food market, and ice cream shop, basically all the essentials are next to the school or across the street.
2.) Describe the social life at your school - what did you like most about it?
What I like the most about the social life here is that there are people from all different backgrounds, and making friends with them means having international long-term relationships.
